Tutorial 4. Detailed Information on the TRP Channel and Its Interacting Proteins

4

This page shows detailed information on the TRP channel of interest and all its interacting proteins. The screen above shows an example when TRPC1 is chosen as the TRP channel of interest and the 'In detail' button is clicked.

  1. If you click 'In detail', you have an access to the detailed the detailed information of the TRP channel of interest.
  2. If you would like to see the screen as in Tutorial 3, click on 'At a glance'
  3. There are also links so that you are able to access the TRP channel of interest in other databases. The contents are categorized based on Basic Information, External Databases, PPI pairs, Biological Process, and Disease.
    • Basic Information tab shows the name, official symbol used in HGNC (HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee), and basic function.
    • External Database tab provides the links to the referred databases including Entrez Gene, UniprotKB, DIP, IntAct, MINT, BioGRID, STRING, IUPHAR-DB, KEGG, and OMIM.
    • PPI pairs tab shows the PPI pair information. You can access to the detailed information on the interacting proteins. If you click the name of a protein, you can see more details on the interaction of the TRP channel and interacting proteins. If you click the magnifying glass, it will show detailed information on the protein including interactions with all the TRP channels.
    • Biological Process tab gives the related GO terms.
    • Disease tab explains the related disease information from OMIM.
  4. If you would like to know more details on the interactions of the two proteins, click the double-sided arrow.
  5. Pubmed ID for the article that contains the interactions of this row. If you click the Pubmed ID, you will see details of the article including the title, authors, and the abstract, and all the interactions which the article contains.
